CALLING FOR THE DEMONSTRATION AGAINST HELEXPO

ELECTIONS REQUIRE OUR PRESENCE AT THE BALLOTS AND ASSIGNMENT OUR ABSENCE FROM LIFE STRUGGLES 

WE TURN OUR BACKS TO BOTH 

At Syntagma, the Left as a whole chose the easily digestible populist dilemma of memorandum or no memorandum in order to gain a role, instead of self-instituting or self-organising a new social scheme. This false dilemma is over, but the left will face it again in its path ahead and this may lead to a defeat larger than anyone can imagine” (Abstract from AK’s release after the elections in May 2012).

We have said it before and we say it again for those that were taken aback and those that want to do one of the same, crossing the same river twice. They are trying in vain. The reasons that led Syriza to its full integration and management by the capitalist system are the same reasons as those that will lead all versions of the left that participate in elections and seek authority roles, to the same end. Gasping behind them are the “perpetual students” of extra-parliamentarians to count votes that have no counterpart in society.

Even the most naïve were convinced in the past five months that assigning someone to save us is the same as assigning someone to destroy us. The LIE in politics takes supernatural dimensions. The NO has become YES, COUNTER-MEMORANDUM became MEMORANDUM and the LEFT became the RIGHT by providing foothold for the reversed world of authority and statism. Five months of the Left were five months of management and governance and nothing more.

A CALL TO EVERYBODY

They have all lost their reliability, drifting an entire society to degradation and indignity. We can wait for nothing. We are turning our backs to the blackmail each time launched as a solution. The elections, this never-ending dull cyclical movement of instigating and dashing hopes, this dead-end maypole of assignment can virtually only renew seats in ministries and corporations and renew our date with the ballot boxes. Within this illusion of participation and complicity, at the point where promises end, blackmail and threats begin. This is the concept behind the regime’s propaganda, that “there are no dead-ends in Democracy”. They want us present at elections for them to renew their authority and the privileges they vow to serve. Let us turn our backs to all savior-parties without an exception, the defenders of hypnosis and segregation, to all those agencies of capitalism and statism.

The big social fronts lie ahead of us: water and dams, energy, solid waste management, re-conquering social space, social and intellectual commons, solidarity and cooperative economy, direct distribution of goods, Chalkidiki, VIOME, resistance to the state of control and surveillance, state of exception.

We needed many paths to open up the road to the antiauthoritarian example as was the case in Skouries. We have been, we are and will be there where the free, the public and the social resist the market and the state.

WE CALL

All those that want to take their lives in their hands, people of autonomy and self-determination, people and groups in the movement of resistance and new perspective, including antiauthoritarians, to be dynamically present at the DEMONSTRATION against HELEXPO on the side of DIRECT DEMOCRACY and SOCIAL ANTIAUTHORITY.
