SOLIDARIETÁ PER GLI 8 NO TAV - SOLIDARITY FOR THE 8 OF NO TAV (ITA - ENG)

Solo pochi giorni dopo l'arresto di sei compagn* di Torino che avevano partecipato alla manifestazione antirazzista MaiConSalvini del 28 marzo 2015, lo stato italiano e la polizia mostrano ancora una volta la loro vera faccia, proseguendo l'opera con altri arresti. Questa volta l'obiettivo è, di nuovo, il movimento NO TAV,  in lotta contro la costruzione di una linea ferroviaria ad alta velocità tra Lione e Torino, che avrebbe effetti disastrosi per l'ambiente e le comunità locali.

       Nella notte del 5 settembre, un gruppo di attivisti NO TAV ha tentato di raggiungere il sito di costruzione del TAV in Val Clarea, prima che la polizia riuscisse a dividerli e a bloccarne una parte, arrestando 8 compagn*. Tra questi, uno studente delle superiori, incensurato, quattro universitari, un compagno del centro sociale Askatasuna e due compagni di Bologna.

        Siamo felici di aver saputo che ieri (9 settembre) è stata decisa la loro scarcerazione. Sette di loro sono stati rilasciati su cauzione, liberi fino al giorno del processo, ma a condizione di rimanere entro I limiti del proprio comune di residenza e di passare la notte nelle proprie case, con quotidiano obbligo di firma. Invece, il giovanissimo studente delle superiori si trova tuttora agli obblighi domiciliari, dunque costretto a una forma di detenzione.

        Abbiamo visto tattiche simili - con lo stato che reprime una lotta in modo da rinforzare ad ogni costo I propri progetti di sviluppo, anche se distruttivi per la popolazione e per l'ambiente - nella lotta contro le miniere d'oro nel nord-est della Calcidica, alla quale partecipiamo. Sia contro il movimento in Calcidica sia contro quello NO TAV lo stato ha usato violenza, lacrimogeni, arresti, oltre a una vera e propria “industria” di persecuzione con l'obiettivo di terrorizzare e piegare lo spirito della società locale e degli attivisti che resistono di fronte a questi progetti di morte.

      Ma dichiariamo che la violenza e la repressione non ci fermeranno. Sappiamo che la solidarietà è la nostra arma più forte. Lo abbiamo sentito quest'estate, durante la manifestazione anti-miniere d'oro del 23 Agosto, sulla montagna di Skouries, in Calcidica, vedendo sventolare alta la bandiera NO TAV. Ed è per questo che stiamo urlando ora, insieme ai nostri compagn* NO TAV: "la valle non si arresta!"

      Only a few days after the arrest of the 6 comrades from Turin who had taken part in an antifascist march (MaiConSalvini) on the 28th March, the Italian state and police show their real face again, continuing with more arrests. This time they have targeted the NO TAV struggle, a movement that is resisting the construction of a high-speed railway line between Turin and Lyon and which will have disastrous consequences for the environment and local communities.  

      On the night of the 5th of September, a group of NO TAV people tried to reach the construction site in the Clarea Valley. However, the police managed to split them in half and block one of these halves, arresting 8 comrades. These include one underage, high-school student from Turin, 4 university students from Turin, a comrade from the social center Ascatasuna and 2 comrades from Bologna.

       We were pleased to hear that yesterday (9th September) their release from the prison was decided upon. Seven of them were placed on bail (free until the court date), under the conditions of having to remain within the limits of their municipality of residence, reporting daily to the police station and being forced to remain inside their own homes at night. However, to the young high-school student house arrest has been forced, so he still remains under a form of detention.

        We have seen similar tactics, -where the state represses a struggle in order to enforce development projects at any cost, which is destructive for both people and the environment- in the struggle against the gold mines in north-eastern Halkidiki, of which we are a part. Against both the Halkidiki and the NO TAV’ movement, the state has used violence, teargas, detentions, and also a real “industry” of prosecutions with the aim of terrorizing and bending the spirit of the local society and the movement that resists these deathly projects.

        But we declare that the violence and repression will not bend our struggles. We know that solidarity is our strongest weapon. We felt it this summer, during the anti-gold demonstration on the 23rd August, on the mountain of Skouries, in Halkidiki, when we saw the No TAV flag waving. That is why we are shouting now, along with our comrades from No Tav “La valle non siarresta”.
